Vortex and Wookey backpacks.....

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love a good backpack. Some people love stoves, some sleeping bags, but for me, it's backpacks. I have 2 full-size packs that work very well for me....a Dana Redirect and a "made in Bozeman" Dana Alpine in overkill,(thanks Duck). However....being the ho' that I be, the packs made by Vortex and a little-known company called Wookey, have caught my eye. Sooooooo......does anyone have any first-hand, or,reliable second-hand info on either of these?....comfort, function, durability, etc....? Thanks. Ed

You need a digital camera Ed, you have plenty of backpacks.

I've had the Vortex 2200 for about 5 years. I used it as my main 3 season search and rescue pack. It's seen a LOT of action and I only recently had the shoulder straps re-sewed as they were beginning to pull out. This is my fault for not using the grab loop to load up the pack. I love it. It's bombproof and is low profile enough that it doesn't get in the way of my helmet or harness while rapelling. Good Yit!

Thanks Tony! This is pretty much what I've been hearing. Rock-solid construction with a no questions asked warranty. Thanks again for the input. Ed
