We haven't had much snow in March in the Tahoe area, but the snowpack has been keeping in pretty good shape. Above 9000ft it's still chalky in protected areas. On sunny slopes, and lower elevations we've been enjoying a nice early corn cycle, with mild surface melt during the days, and good freezes at night...
Hopefully a little new snow will be falling late this week and into the weekend, for a little taste of powder, or more likely dust on crust... Just trying to get a few more days of good riding in before the spring/summer activities start up.
Shot of my wife enjoying some turns, as well as a shot of some of the familiar places still holding chalky rideable snow. Most people are staying out of the steeps right now because the snow is firm, and you actually have to have some edge control. Keeps the crowds down!
