Daiwa's New Triforce "Shorty" Rods Designed for Fishing in Tight Quarters

Unique, three-foot rods allow anglers to easily access areas where obstructions make it difficult to use longer rods.

CERRITOS, Calif., Feb. 13, 2007 – What started out as a rod made purely for casting demonstrations at crowded indoor sportsman shows has unexpectedly found a place in Daiwa’s 2007 product line-up, thanks to overwhelming consumer demand. Daiwa’s new Triforce “Shorty” spinning and casting rods are now available to the general public, offering anglers a way to easily access “honey holes” where trees, brush or docks make it hard to fish with a longer rod.

“We were using them in our booths to demonstrate the new ‘Twitchin’ Bar’ on our TD Viento baitcasters when, to our surprise, consumers started asking where they could purchase these rods,” said Daiwa’s Vice President of East Coast Operations, Bill Liston. “After fielding numerous inquiries at show after show, it became clear there was a real demand for this unusual yet highly effective product. That’s when we decided to make them part of the line-up.”

While Daiwa’s Triforce “Shorty” rods are about half the size of standard fishing rods, don’t confuse this decreased length with a lack of strength. Quality graphite construction and a strong blank-through-handle design ensure plenty of hook-setting and fish-fighting power. These rods not only allow you to present a bait or lure to fish in areas that render longer rods useless, they also supply the strength and backbone needed to land bass and other tough freshwater adversaries. In addition to a strong, durable graphite blank, each Triforce “Shorty” rod boasts cut-proof aluminum oxide guides, custom thread wraps with multi-coat finish, a natural cork handle/foregrip, and a protective foam butt cap and grip check.

Triforce “Shorty” rods can be matched up with a wide variety of Daiwa spinning and baitcasting reels to form an ideal outfit for fishing in tight quarters. Both the TFC 301MRB (spinning) and TFC301MRS (casting) Triforce “Shorty” rod models have an MSRP of $14.95.
