    Driving to Heavenly

Guys, we will be driving from SF to Heavenly and am thinking of taking the 50. Is that a good way to get there? Basically turn off at Sacremento onto the 50 and a 'straight' shot to South Lake Taho.

Is it allways open or does it get snowed closed sometimes? Just looking for some advice here.

    Thanks

    CI

I believe that's the route we took from San Fran to Tahoe and I seem to recall seeing a number of signs related to putting chains on tires. I'm sure others will have even better information than mine!

Yep, that's the way... Take 50 to the lake, at the South Lake Tahoe Y in the road, take a right... You'll know where you're in town...

Been trying to do the happy dance for the snow, it's only "kinda" working... There will be snow to ride, but nothing epic... We've been getting ultralight dry fluff on a really shallow hard base. Doesn't fill in the cracks to well, but the groomers are getting some. A little snow may be falling over the holidays, so keep your fingers crossed...
