Talking Kirkwood - Winter part 2 - Pres Weekend

Actually got a nice arctic weather partern that hit Tahoe for a few days, ending Sunday night. Actually got some real powder... Nice change, as this winter has been a bit warm and heavy when it comes to snow... Most storms having a snow level of 7000ft, this one dropped down to 1000ft elevation... makes for some fluffy stuff that normally is reserved for you continental snowpack folks... woohoo!

Unfortunately, when it's that light if you drop into 2ft of it from any height you'll feel the hardpack underneath... Oh well.. Time for the biggest board you can find and keep the drops steep, not flat...

Enjoyed Saturday with zero crowds, best snow. Sunday crowds and sloppy seconds (still light due to mid teens temps) and some untracked with a litte more work. We rode tons of trees... And unfortunately, one rode me.... ouch! Time for some new boarding pants....

    Sweet shots NK...

What was up with the crowds? Or lack-there-of? Keystone was pretty tame on Saturday and even better on Sunday. I'm not complaining though!

No skin to show on the torn pants piccy?

    Okay... Fine...

Here's a bigger picture for you, with subtitles added... ;)

And yah, couldn't figure out Saturday. The weather was a bit snowy and overcast, but there was +12" of the softest snow yet this season on the ground and another 4-6" fell during the day. No wind, nada... Sunday they seemed to all show up, but they all bailed by noon it seemed. Oh well... Once again, no complaints from me...

I really need to find someone else to ride with to take some photos... It's sad when my only shot of the weekend is my torn up a$$...

    Getting warmer...

I was hoping for blood and gore. But, hairy, white skin will have to suffice.

Sorry to dissapoint. I figured you wouldn't want to see any more of my harry ass, even if it was bruised and bloody... Not a pretty image....

And thanks E... I was thinking of a comment more along the lines of her "tearing me a new one" or something like that... I must say though, it made for some cold chairlift rides...
