Salmon in Russia

I was thinking about splashing out on a trip to the Russian Kola Peninsula (once in a lifetime and all that), anyone got any recommendations or experience to contribute?

I fished in the Volga River outside of Yoshkar-ola about 800km from Moscow I was told we should catch Salmon and those big fish with the tasty eggs was possible as well but we came back empty,maybe just a bad day out but hope you have better luck.
