OT: Paging Left Coasters - LazyL, Canuck, et al
A VERY POWERFUL PACIFIC STORM HAS GENERATED WHAT COULD BE THE_LARGEST_WAVES RECORDED SO FAR THIS WINTER ALONG THE NORTHERN AND_CENTRAL_CALIFORNIA COAST...AND PERHAPS THE LARGEST IN THE LAST 10_YEARS. THE_ LEADING EDGE OF THE LARGE WAVES REACHED THE NORTHERN COASTAL_WATERS_LATE LAST NIGHT AND WILL REACH THE CENTRAL WATERS LATER THIS MORNING._THE WAVES WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD THROUGH TONIGHT AS THEY SPREAD SOUTHWARD DOWN THE COAST.

COMBINED SEAS WILL BEGIN BUILDING TO AROUND 15 FEET LATER_ THIS MORNING...REACHING NEAR 20 FEET BY THIS AFTERNOON AND THEN_PEAKING_ BETWEEN 25 AND 40 FEET TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY ON THE_OCEAN...AND REACHING 10 TO 20 FT IN THE MONTEREY BAY. IN ADDITION TO WAVE_ SETS IN_THIS RANGE...THERE IS ALSO THE POSSIBILITY OF A FEW EVEN_LARGER WAVES_OCCURRING FROM TIME TO TIME...PERHAPS UP TO 50 FEET. THESE_HIGH SURF CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST LATE_FRIDAY...BEFORE SEAS SUBSIDE TO AROUND 15 FEET.

    Yowsa!!!
Holy Spicoli, look at that! (Very cool imaging, by the way. Thanks for the link.)

A quick check of the LL Rooftop SurfCam reveals blown-out mush here in SoCal. Plus, super-duper-pooper polluted water from our recent big rains. Ahh, urban surf! But I found my missing pair of flipflops on the roof, so that was cool!

How's the surf in SwissMissLand, Ripz? Gonna tear up the frozen waves this weekend?

looks like the peak shoud've hit you sometime on sunday. and a equally large second swell right behind it 3-4 days later. let's see a LL beachcam shot sometime.

'twas a good weekend for sure. by the time you read this no doubt you will have seen my trip report!
