winter now being a distant memory....was off to buy a new skimboard friday, and hit the beach both fri and sat....being super low tides. It was awesome!! Can't believe the number of people doing this out here now, from 6 yr olds up to old guys my age!!!!!

(I got the skullskates "skate" model...nice twin tip, super heavy, goes over sand even)

when i was a kid, i had a cool coca-cola bottlecap sign that i found in the woods. it was big and heavy but it would glide forever. in the winters the beach would get jacked up at about 20 degrees angle due to the wave erosion. we'd time the waves and bomb down the runout into 3-6 foot shorebreak and see who could get the most air. fun stuff!

yep, just like that. we'd do flips and try to break our necks on the sandbar. i had plenty of "strawberries" from hitting the sand. i remember this one time i supermanned into the water, hit bottom with my face and came up with a nice strawberry on my forehead. after that, everytime we did a face first crash, it was a "ghandi" due to the red dot on the forehead. "dude, i ghandi'd big time on that last wave!" :D

Hmm... Ghandi'd... Have to remember that...

I actually had great plans of starting up skimboarding again this summer. It's been a while and I needed a new way to hurt myself. So I thought. Guess I still know how to do that... Anyway, I'll have to give it a try after my ankle recovers... Any excuse to hang at the beach and play in the water...
