I'm new to the board, so hope I'm posting this in the right place!

I'm in the market for a new shell (either traditional or soft), but am having a hard time finding one that fits my 6'4" frame. In the past, I've purchased XXL to make up for the need in sleeve and tail length. The problem is that the jacket is always too big elsewhere on me.

Do any companies tend to add more length to their sleeve and/or tail than others? Except for those 2 issues, XL tends to fit me the best.

Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the board, and don't mind Norbert, he's an idiot. What Kind of shell are you looking for? Waterproof or just a wind shell? I am 6'3", but I can generally get away with a large, even a medium depending on the manufacturer. I have been using an o2 rainshield jacket and pants combo for rain, and I have had good luck with fit from them.

Indy....in addition to what Greyhound mentioned, you may also want to check out the outerwear from LL Bean, all of which comes in regular and tall sizes. I've got several of their items, from shells to fleece, and it's all good stuff, backed by a rock-solid guarantee. Our son in law, who is 6'3", has a reversible fleece jacket from them, size xl, tall, and it's fine as to the length. Good luck. Ed
