Wow... If ever a sick day was justified, I think that was it... Impressive conditions... So, did the O'sin add or subtract from the enjoyment?

Wow... If ever a sick day was justified, I think that was it... Impressive conditions... So, did the O'sin add or subtract from the enjoyment?

most of the day we were looking at trackless pitches with Al saying "i'm not doing that until someone breaks trail first". my reply: "OK, watch this!". i did the first tracks honor all day long. lines that i would never have imagined were being ridden that day. even the pistes were knee deep. it took a while to open up the entire resort. 80cms reported accumulated in 2 days.

the O'Sin was great! :D i really could have used a bigger board, i was submarining unless i cranked down on the rear foot. then it's like popping a wheelie and just straightlining it down the hill, floating and bouncing all the way down. as it got tracked out a little it allowed for some super sick carving. the o'sin loves to go edge to edge - carvey surfy feeling. i love it. i just wish i had more opportunities to use it.

a little more snow overnight and high winds today. it got really cold late yesterday. i almost had frostbite on my fingers. taking the day off to recooperate. may take thurs/fri off. oh yeah -another 20-30cms of snow expected sat/sun! unreal.

anyone up for a last minute trip to europe? if you can do it, now is the time. :D

Glad to hear it worked out for ya. I'm with you about bigger though. When it's more than thigh deep and light at all, it's definitely not big enough... The nose design keeps it from floating as well as my shorter 172 it seems... SOmething about that ship's hull shape allows for better stability, at a loss in float.. Still good though...

And yah, nice to be on a powder board that still goes edge to edge well... Nice feeling...

Well, take care of yourself and get back out in that snow.. With the cold temps the good stuff should last a while... Gotta love the random big storms...

In the meantime it'll be back to Tahoe this weekend for some somewhat fresh Sierra Cement.. Nothing epic, but it's snow..

WOW! Looks incredible, I hate you. I got to drive through the snow, my riding was previous to the snow. But I manage to ride in some rain one day & a few inches of snow on ice the next over the weekend. We're getting some snow now, hopefully I can hit it up latter in the day.

I think the nose on that ST board tends to plow more than float throught the snow.

:D

i guess that's a big depends. if it's waist/chest deep and so light that you can walk through it, nothing is gonna keep it above the snow. the following days, as it settled into nice consolidated thigh deep (really don't know exactly coz i never stopped long enough to check- heh) it was perfection. the edge to edge action in pow is simply wonderful. its quickly becoming my go-to board.

and yeah, i am too heavy (but not slow!)....me+gear+pack+everything is probably upwards of 230lbs. yikes! i need to lay off the pasta and cheese...
