THE ‘PIG SERIES’ PRO BIG AIR CONTEST COMES TO KIRKWOOD!

Kirkwood is tickled pink (pig pink), to announce the most fun we’ve had in the valley for a while. We’re hosting the filming of the P.I.G. Series; an invitational pro ski/snowboard big air event. Pro athletes compete in a high flying adaptation of the old playground game of HORSE. Eliminated athletes become judges; winner of four heats will compete for top placement on the PIG Pen podium. The 10 week series will be shot in 10 days from the 7th until the 17th (weather permitting) and will air on VOOM Network in October & November 2005. The venue is Flying Carpet (Chair 2), the feature is a duel jump, 50’ and 75’ (Baby Lion’s Mouth, for the old SuperPark pack) and the scene will be big. The competition is friendly, the focus is fun and atmosphere will great for the whole family

Athletes include Nick Mercon, Mike Wilson, Mickael Deschenaux, Jamie Culp, Ali Goulet, Marc Frank Montoya, Jimi Tomer, Robbie Sell, Eddie Wall, Matt Sterbenz, Andy Woods, Steele Spence… the list goes on. They’ll all be staying in the valley for the duration of the shoot; look for them on the mountain as well on the Plaza and in Bub’s. Some of these guys know Kirkwood already, some don’t. This is a good time to be at the Wood. The mountain’s in incredible shape, weather’s going to be nice (sunshine with a little snow along the way) and the vibe will be classic Kirkwood. Fine time to make time to be here.
Sounds like fun.... Any locals planning on hitting up the wood to check it out?

No flying pigs, nor snow, here these days.

Check out what we have to resort to around these parts to amuse ourselves...

Nice..... Man's new best friend?

'Tis a bummer about the snow. Weather patterns have definitely been a bit wacked this year. I'm enjoying what we have, and definitely not taking it for granted. Just sun and mild weather in the forecast currently, but a base that will make for some nice corn harvesting over the next week or so... Time to take a hike and work on the tan...
