Going to see Warren Miller tonight with a bunch of friends. Never seen one of his flicks aside from being on my couch at home. Should be a great time!
PLUS, we get a free lift ticket to Copper and Winter Park for only a $23 ticket or something!! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

and said it was ok. Too much skiing.:( Plus, it was almost 2.5 hours. But that's just one person's opinion. Enjoy.

Well, main reason I'm going is for the two free lift tickets. I've never been to Copper and lift tickets are $50, havent been to Winter Park since 1991 where I learned to ski, and i'm sure lift ticket prices there are comparable. PLUS, we're meeting 2 hours early for lots and lots of drinks to keep us buzzed throughout the movie. There will be 10 of us going.....so should be a good time regardless of all the ski shots. Warren Miller has always had more skiing than snowboarding so I guess i wasnt expecting it to be any different.
Although, I think you gave away the ending so NoKnees might be upset with you. ;)

Friday night for me! Can't wait. It's usually how I start my season but this year I can thank the early snow for an early start.

Dude, you're gonna love it. Least I did. The intro kicked ass. The Charmonix section was my favorite and I definitely liked the first half better than the second half.
Have fun and let me know what you thought of it?

Good movie. Better than last years except not enough boarding. Was very ski heavy. I did appreciate the free DVD they gave us. Definitely worth watching though.

I'm living in the San Juan Islands of Washington state (far NW corner, near Vancouver, BC). Warren lives on the island that I do, which is Orcas island. He shows the movie in person here every year as a benefit for local charities. I'd been watching his movies for the last 7 years or so and never though I get the chance to meet him. He is really funny and entertaining to talk to. Very friendly and nice. The movie Impact was great. Hope you enjoy it!

That's cool..... Seem's like he'd be a great guy to know... Still out there having fun after all these years... Truly a ski bum for life...
As for Impact, it was good, but they just aren't quite like they used to be. Since his son took over most of the work, it hasn't been quite the same. The level of skiing is impressive as always, but it's just missing some of the old Warren Miller "Flavor". Snowboarding was glazed over a bit more this year as well, with less of a presence. Brian Savard had some shots, and K. Clark had some early on as well, but nothing too special over all. I think the audience said it all, with less "ewwws, and ahhhs"...
Over all, good flick, but not worth the $17.50 that I had to pay for a ticket... $8 more and I own a good snowboarding DVD I can view over and over...
Althought, the Steamboat powder skiing was pretty nice... Would have loved to see a boarder ripping through there with a big'ol swallowtail.. :)

Ya, I used to go every year and kick off the season, the last few have been less stellar...
so, have you seen the libtech longboard series? The "grocer" and "doughboy"?

Those have been around for a while. I've consider picking up one in the past, but I'm over it. I'll stick to a my more practical 172-178 ST's for now.
If anything Imm more curious about their ginsu styled boards with the funky serrated edge. Looks like a pain for tuning... :) Too small for my taste though...
