Hmmm... Yah, you'll need a little luck these days to find a great deal, but they do pop up. I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya. In some of the smaller mags this will be the year of the splitboard. I know Couloir mag is doing a big equipment review next issue, and they have been picking up their regular coverage on snowboarding in the backcountry as it is.
Try to sweet talk the Prior guys next time you are up in Whistler to see if you can get a good price on a used/demo board from them. That's where I ended up getting mine... Their newer ones are some of the best out there right now, although Voile has some new models for this year and next year with lighter materials and more sizes. Bummed they dropped the 195st from their list though, as I never got around to picking one of those up when I had the chance.
If you are feeling frisky you can have the guys over at Never Summer build you a custom split using any of their standard boards. Think the cost with hardware is around $800 us though. Not a bad deal considering the choices in boards and the build quality for NS stuff.
Hope I get a chance to get out on my split this year. God knows I need the exercise...
