I'm sure Kazaa still works, but I use "Shareaza". It can work on all the gnuttela and edonkey networks... It's okay.. I can find a lot of what I'm looking for...

The thing I just started doing the other night is to find a good Shoutcast station playing some tunes I like, and ripping those. There is a great little plugin for Winamp that will grab the song and artist from a shoutcast stream and rip the song with this info while you listen. You can let it run over night (if you have the storage) and get a good list of stuff to go sample and you'll actually know who the artist is so you can track them down later... Kinda nice...
