If so, let me know.

In an alarming new development, it looks like I will be helping host a Mammoth pre-season party at a local nightclub on 10/16.

Which is all fine and good, but more importantly, my new favorite band, the Drive-by Truckers, will be playing shortly thereafter on the 20th, at the storied Troubadour club. Yeeeehaw. (They did, after all, write the mehugtree anthem, "Bulldozers and Dirt.")

See you there?

Couch and floor space available chez Lazy.

My wife and are will be making a flyby in two weeks. We are heading down to Disneyland again for her birthday the first weekend in October. Not sure about any trips later though..

Sounds fun...

I played at the Troubador once! Yeah, I was a roadie for a band the played many times there, I played bass and knew all their songs. One time the bass player OD'd and couldn't play, so I filled in. It was freaking awesome!

And you get WAY more "after show offers" when you play as opposed to being a roadie........

Sorry, off topic, but I had to relive that night of glory at the opportunity your post opened.....

You and your wife are just kids masquerading as adults, aren't you? (I feel the same way.)

Are you going to do the park for two days, or one?

I'm supposed to be doing the Mt. Whitney thing that weekend (not gonna summit; I'm too fat and out of shape; just gonna do a partial hike and guard the beer coolers while my studly friends summit). Maybe I should blow it off, go to D-Land, and just ride the Matterhorn ride? That's sort of like summiting, right? (Do they still even have that one? I loved it!)

...that the two days prior to the Mammoth/Hollywood thingie-dingie will be spent at a beachside resort in Santa Barbara, gratis, courtesy of a certain hot chick-friend. :p

We are completely just kids playing the part and paying the bills... No need to have our own kids...

And yes, a couple days at the parks... All day Friday, Sat, and maybe a little time Sunday morning... She's an Disney nut, and I'm just a Disney enthusiast supporting her needs...

As for the Matterhorn, yep, it's still around... It'll be closed that weekend for 'refurb'. Space Mountain has been closed for a while for a complete overhaul. Won't open until Spring of 2005, closed in 2003 I think... Thunder Mountain Railway I think is back open. Guess they haven't killed anyone lately on that. Been a good year..

Anyway, looking forward to the Tower of Terror thing on the California adventure side... Should be alright... And always fun taking a spin on all the classics... The best is for the holiday season they convert the Haunted House into "Nightmare Before Christmas's" Haunted House. Good times...

You are aware that the Drive-by Truckers are from the Atlanta/Athens area, doncha? Helping revive southern rock, can I get a hell yeah???

you heard that country song "Redneck Woman"? Done by some chicky who starts out the video by crossing a stream on her 4wheeler then doing donuts in a big truck. I'm in love!

Ahem.

I've not seen the Redneck Women vid. Damn, I can't compete with her style. Unless driving around eating donuts in an AWD counts?
