Ladies and Gents,

I posted this over in the snowboard discussion forum, but since I'm here too and some of you might drive a Subaru I thought I would double post it here. I was supposed to go snowboarding with a guy from the snowboard side this week while I was driving to Philly. Unfortunately I got in to a fairly serious car accident so I'm not sure if I'm even going now. Anyway I got rear ended while I was stopped in traffic by a guy who was running from the cops. The police said that the guy was travelling between 65-70mph (I think that is like 105-120kmph for our metric friends).
I know this doesn't rate as a "scariest outdoors moment" but it was the scariest thing in my young life thus far. For those of you who drive a Subaru I thought I would try to post some pictures so you would know how well your car will stand-up in this type of accident. I think it is a pretty good testimate to Subaru's safety that I'm able to be standing next to the car.

I'm ok... sore mostly and a swollen knee. I need to go back to the doc's to make sure it's ok internally. I was actually driving to school and didn't have my board with me. I was going to go to Philly the week of 3/14 but my accident was on 3/10 so I'm not sure what'll happen just yet.

Thanks again John

Lucky escape my man hope you recover soon. If it had been any worse I dont think I'd be posting this message to you and maybe no where to send the loyalties for the kayak rolling aid idea you had!!! and that would break my heart!!

Hope your well

Glad you are ok. Good luck recovering. Make sure not to settle on a claim for at least six months, as lingering injuries may occur. I was in a rollover about a year ago, and came out fine, but have been seeing a chiropractor ever since to make sure. Just .02....

Thanks to everyone for the kind words...

BTW in the second picture I'm holding the AWD symbol that you find on most Subaru windows. Popped right out when the glass shattered...sticker held it all together.

Got to scan the Subaru dealerships now in search of a new one.

Check out the newly redesigned Outbacks (basically 2005 models).

I'm looking at a 2.5XT with the turbocharged 4-cyclinder model....

Glad you're OK! Good to hear that the Sub stood up well..
