I somehow recall that this isn't necessary since it comes w/ a coat. Is that correct?

I have a new Timeless that still has shrink wrap. Trying to figure out if I need to wax it before I ride it the first time.

Thanks.

If it's a "new" board from last season or back then yes it could use a hot wax. If it's a new 05/06 model then there is a good chance that it is fine as most quality companies offer a solid factory wax(Ride does). A board base dries out even if it isn't being ridden, so the best way is to simply look at the base and see if there is a white haze within it, indicating it needs waxed. Keep in mind also that the goal of waxing is to have the base saturated within with wax.
