The weather cam of Cold Mountain in Shinning Rock Wilderness in NC is now operational. They have added Temp. Wind. Etc. to the display as well as the day before info. http://webcam.srs.fs.fed.us/index.php
For those that don't know. Shinning Rock Wilderness is a area south west of Asheville and Due South of Canton NC that contains many thousands acres of wilderness. Including mountains of over 6000 ft I know, I know, that is hills to you westerners but mighty high for us south easterners. Keith.

Wayno! Did you have to walk in or drive. I can't do anything until Jan. Then I hope to get in there. The Mt. Mitchell area will be closed both ways due to tunnel repair until spring. Do you have any pictures of your trip. Hint! Hint! This time of year is always great in there because NO people. What is the Duck doing these days? Keith

actually i do have a few, mainly hunters, no backpacker we saw. we asked duck to come, but he said he had no boots that were good for weather, he's into bikes, and camping seems to be low priority for him
