From the Charlotte NC Observer. Water park for kayaks canoers and rafters, under construction. Will open in June of 06. Total cost over 25 mil. Olympic quality kayak and canoe course is being built on the Catawba river just west of Charlotte NC on I85. Three quarter mile course with a conveyor belt to lift the yaks 25 ft up to the top to start over again. Water flow 560,000 gpm. The Olympic can and yak teams will train there. Also guided rafter trips will be available. Cost 15 to 25 dollars run. It didn't say what this included or if there was an all day tickets etc. No details. Keith
