Mammoth in the Summer

A good friend of mine is doing some work in Mammoth, California next week. His wife asked me if I knew of any good hiking trails up there. As I have never been to Mammoth I thought I might ask all of you. So does anyone have any experience spending the summer months in Mammoth, and if so does anyone have any good trail recommendations?
